1. 1A person can use bread as they need to, as long as they do not ruin it, but they may not ruin it. Therefore, one may not leave raw meat on bread or pass a full cup over it, not lean a bowl on it… and do not use wine even for a mitzvah like hand-washing. And do not throw bread because it is disgrace to food. And just as one may not throw bread, so too it is prohibited to throw any food that will become distasteful as a result.
2. 2A person should not sit on a basket full of figs and dried figs, but he may sit on a round cake of pressed figs or on a basket full of legumes.
3. 3It is permitted to eat diysa (meaning: hulled wheat that is cooked) with bread in place of a spoon, provided that one eats the bread afterward. Those who are scrupulous eat a small amount of the bread each time they put it in their mouth together with the diysa. Rema: And the bread that remains afterward, one eats it.
4. 4Wine is drawn through pipes before the groom and bride, provided that he receives it at the mouth of the pipe. And they throw roasted grains and nuts before them in the summer months since they do not become repulsive, but not in the rainy season because they become repulsive. But confections—never.
5. 5Those who throw wheat before grooms must be careful to throw only in a clean place, and they should also sweep it up from there so that it will not be trampled upon.
