Watering promotes growth - a derivative of sowing (Shabbat ע״ג ע״ב (73b)). Picking a flower or fruit - reaping. Chazal also decreed against climbing or using a tree, lest one pluck (Beitzah ל״ו ע״ב (36b)). Walking on grass - permitted.

    Animals

Trapping is an av melakhah. One may feed animals dependent on a person (pet dog, cat), but not animals whose food is not your responsibility (SA OC 324:11). Animals are inherently muktzeh.
