Verse 1
עצות מרחוק אמונה אומן — עצות שיעצת מרחוק לאברהם בברית בין הבתרים:
אמונה אומן — אמונה נאמנת אומן כמו אוהל אוכל ואינו ל' פועל אלא ל' מפעל אבויי"רמינט בלע"ז:
Verse 2
כי שמת — הר שעיר מעיר לגל:
ארמון זרים מעיר — מעון שעשו בעירך שהחריבוה תתן ארמונותיה חורבן אשר לעולם לא יבנה:
Verse 4
מחסה מזרם — כיסוי אהל להציל מזרם וצל להגין מחורב ומהו אותו זרם הוא רוח עריצים כי רוחם דימה לזרם השוטף בקיר ומפילו:
Verse 5
כחורב בציון — בעת יובש שמייבש הזרעים להתמולל כן תכניע שאון זרים:
חורב בצל עב — כשהמים מתקשרים בענן עב בימי השרב שהכל שמחים בו כן יענה שיר הצדיקים על זמיר עריצים ומפלתן:
זמיר — ל' לא תזמור (ויקרא כה):
Verse 6
ועשה ה' צבאות לכל העמים — כשיבאו לצבא על ירושלים:
משתה שמנים — שהם סבורים שיהא נוח להם כשמן יהפוך למשתה שמרים:
שמנים ממחים — נוחים ושמנים כמוח עצמות יהיה שמרים מזוקקים מכל משקה שמן ויין שלא יהא שם אלא שמרים לבדם וכל זה במלחמות גוג ומגוג:
Verse 7
הלוט — הכסוי הלוט על [כל] העמים. המכסה את כל העמים, הלוט כמו וילט פניו (מלכים א' יט) הנה היא לוטה בשמלה (שמואל א כ״א:י׳):
המסכה — לשון נסיכות ושררה:
Verse 8
בלע המות — יכסנו ויעלימנו עולמי' מישראל:
Verse 9
ואמר — עמו ביום ההוא הנה וגו':
קוינו לו ויושיענו — היינו מקוים לו שיושיענו:
Verse 10
כי תנוח יד ה' — גבורתו של מקו':
ונדוש — יהא נדוש:
תחתיו — במקומו ונדוש כמו ונרוץ הגלגל (קהלת יב):
מתבן — תבן:
מדמנה — טיט וכן לדומן על פני האדמה (ירמיה טו):
Verse 11
ופרש ידיו — ושבר ידון וזרועותיו בספוק כפים בבכי:
השוחה — השט במים:
לשחות — לשוט וכן מי שחו (יחזקאל מז י'):
והשפיל — המשפיל את גאוותו:
עם ארבות ידיו — לשון וארב לו (דברים יט) תירגם יונתן אשוות ידוהי מקום שהוא שם לו ידים לארוב והם מגדלים גבוהים אשוות חומות ומגדלים כמו (ירמיה ג) נפלו אשיותיה:

Verse 1

יְהֹוָ֤ה אֱלֹהַי֙ אַתָּ֔ה אֲרֽוֹמִמְךָ֙ אוֹדֶ֣ה שִׁמְךָ֔ כִּ֥י עָשִׂ֖יתָ פֶּ֑לֶא עֵצ֥וֹת מֵרָחֹ֖ק אֱמ֥וּנָה אֹֽמֶן׃

O E TERNAL One, You are my God; I will extol You, I will praise Your name. For You planned graciousness of old, Counsels of steadfast faithfulness.

Verse 2

כִּ֣י שַׂ֤מְתָּ מֵעִיר֙ לַגָּ֔ל קִרְיָ֥ה בְצוּרָ֖ה לְמַפֵּלָ֑ה אַרְמ֤וֹן זָרִים֙ מֵעִ֔יר לְעוֹלָ֖ם לֹ֥א יִבָּנֶֽה׃

For You have turned a city into a stone heap, A walled town into a ruin, The citadel of strangers into rubble, Never to be rebuilt.

Verse 3

עַל־כֵּ֖ן יְכַבְּד֣וּךָ עַם־עָ֑ז קִרְיַ֛ת גּוֹיִ֥ם עָרִיצִ֖ים יִירָאֽוּךָ׃

Therefore a fierce people must honor You, A city of cruel nations must fear You.

Verse 4

כִּי־הָיִ֨יתָ מָע֥וֹז לַדָּ֛ל מָע֥וֹז לָאֶבְי֖וֹן בַּצַּר־ל֑וֹ מַחְסֶ֤ה מִזֶּ֙רֶם֙ צֵ֣ל מֵחֹ֔רֶב כִּ֛י ר֥וּחַ עָרִיצִ֖ים כְּזֶ֥רֶם קִֽיר׃

For You have been a refuge for the pauper, A shelter for the needy person in distress— Shelter from rainstorm, shade from heat. When the fury of tyrants was like a winter rainstorm,

Verse 5

כְּחֹ֣רֶב בְּצָי֔וֹן שְׁא֥וֹן זָרִ֖ים תַּכְנִ֑יעַ חֹ֚רֶב בְּצֵ֣ל עָ֔ב זְמִ֥יר עָרִיצִ֖ים יַעֲנֶֽה׃ {פ}

The rage of strangers like heat in the desert, You subdued the heat with the shade of clouds, The singing of the tyrants was vanquished.

Verse 6

וְעָשָׂה֩ יְהֹוָ֨ה צְבָא֜וֹת לְכׇל־הָֽעַמִּים֙ בָּהָ֣ר הַזֶּ֔ה מִשְׁתֵּ֥ה שְׁמָנִ֖ים מִשְׁתֵּ֣ה שְׁמָרִ֑ים שְׁמָנִים֙ מְמֻ֣חָיִ֔ם שְׁמָרִ֖ים מְזֻקָּקִֽים׃

G OD of Hosts will make on this mount For all the peoples A banquet of rich viands, A banquet of choice wines— Of rich viands seasoned with marrow, Of choice wines well refined.

Verse 7

וּבִלַּע֙ בָּהָ֣ר הַזֶּ֔ה פְּנֵֽי־הַלּ֥וֹט׀הַלּ֖וֹט עַל־כׇּל־הָעַמִּ֑ים וְהַמַּסֵּכָ֥ה הַנְּסוּכָ֖ה עַל־כׇּל־הַגּוֹיִֽם׃

And on this mount will be destroyed the shroud That is drawn over the faces of all the peoples, And the covering that is spread Over all the nations:

Verse 8

בִּלַּ֤ע הַמָּ֙וֶת֙ לָנֶ֔צַח וּמָחָ֨ה אֲדֹנָ֧י יֱהֹוִ֛ה דִּמְעָ֖ה מֵעַ֣ל כׇּל־פָּנִ֑ים וְחֶרְפַּ֣ת עַמּ֗וֹ יָסִיר֙ מֵעַ֣ל כׇּל־הָאָ֔רֶץ כִּ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה דִּבֵּֽר׃ {פ}

Death will be destroyed forever. My Sovereign G OD will wipe the tears away From all faces And will put an end to the reproach of God’s people Over all the earth— For it is G OD who has spoken.

Verse 9

וְאָמַר֙ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא הִנֵּ֨ה אֱלֹהֵ֥ינוּ זֶ֛ה קִוִּ֥ינוּ ל֖וֹ וְיוֹשִׁיעֵ֑נוּ זֶ֤ה יְהֹוָה֙ קִוִּ֣ינוּ ל֔וֹ נָגִ֥ילָה וְנִשְׂמְחָ֖ה בִּישׁוּעָתֽוֹ׃

In that day they shall say: This is our God; We trusted in the One who delivered us. This is G OD , in whom we trusted; Let us rejoice and exult in God’s deliverance!

Verse 10

כִּי־תָנ֥וּחַ יַד־יְהֹוָ֖ה בָּהָ֣ר הַזֶּ֑ה וְנָד֤וֹשׁ מוֹאָב֙ תַּחְתָּ֔יו כְּהִדּ֥וּשׁ מַתְבֵּ֖ן (במי) [בְּמ֥וֹ] מַדְמֵנָֽה׃

For G OD ’s hand shall descend Upon this mount, And Moab shall be trampled underfoot As straw is threshed to bits at Madmenah.

Verse 11

וּפֵרַ֤שׂ יָדָיו֙ בְּקִרְבּ֔וֹ כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר יְפָרֵ֥שׂ הַשֹּׂחֶ֖ה לִשְׂח֑וֹת וְהִשְׁפִּיל֙ גַּאֲוָת֔וֹ עִ֖ם אׇרְבּ֥וֹת יָדָֽיו׃

Then [God’s] hands will be spread out in their homeland, As a swimmer’s hands are spread out to swim, And their pride will be humbled Along with the emblems of their power.

Verse 12

וּמִבְצַ֞ר מִשְׂגַּ֣ב חוֹמֹתֶ֗יךָ הֵשַׁ֥ח הִשְׁפִּ֛יל הִגִּ֥יעַ לָאָ֖רֶץ עַד־עָפָֽר׃ {ס}

Yea, the secure fortification of their walls Will be laid low and humble— Will be razed to the ground, to the very dust.
