Orach Chayim Siman 463

Orach Chayim Siman 463 is a source-text unit from the Shulchan Arukh with 3 seifim. Its reading map separates the practical rule, its conditions and the points that need comparison with the surrounding text.

    What to track

Read each seif as a separate step. Identify the action, the condition that limits it and any distinction between cases before moving to the next seif.

    Study lens

Look for a turn toward a more precise resolution. The source text remains the primary evidence; this note offers a structured way to enter it rather than replacing close reading.

    Original text

Whether it is permitted to roast two bundles of grain together and the laws of karmel (roasted grain). Containing 3 paragraphs: It is permitted to roast two bundles of grain together, and we are not concerned that perhaps moisture will pass from one to the other, as they are fruit juices and they do not cause leavening.

Vitika, which is a dish made from oil and salt with flour, is permitted, provided that it does not contain water. Rema: And according to our custom, which is to be stringent with fruit juices, this too is forbidden.
