Shulchan Arukh Orach Chayim 512 — English translation

1. 1Not to cook for a non-Jew on Yom Tov. 3 sections: One may not cook for a non-Jew on Yom Tov. Therefore it is forbidden to invite him, lest one cook extra on his account — and specifically inviting him Rema: to one's home; but sending food to his home via a non-Jew is permitted. (Hagahot Maimoniyot ch. 1 in the name of Or Zarua) But one's male or female servant, as well as a messenger who was sent to him, and similarly a non-Jew who comes on his own — it is permitted to feed them along with oneself, and we are not concerned that one will cook extra on their account. Rema: It is permitted to cook extra for one's male or female servant in the same pot one is cooking in for oneself. (Mordechai ch. 2 of Beitzah) But for other non-Jews it is forbidden in any case. (Orchot Chayyim and Tosafot) A Jew who bakes in a non-Jew's oven and must give him one loaf — he should not designate a specific loaf for the non-Jew before baking, as that would mean he is baking for the non-Jew; rather he should bake without designation and then give him one afterward. (Kol Bo)
2. 2Soldiers who gave their flour to a Jew to bake bread for them — if they do not object when the Jew gives some of it to a child, it is permitted to bake for them.
3. 3It is forbidden to cook or bake for dogs, but it is permitted to handle food and place it before them. Rema: But it is forbidden to carry it out for him from one domain to another. (Hagahot Maimoniyot and HaMagid ch. 1) Similarly it is forbidden to knead bran for fowl (Mordechai) except with a change. (Kol Bo) It is permitted to cook extra for the dogs in the same pot one is cooking in for oneself, even if one has something else one could give the dogs if one wished.
