    Source and decoding

    Bava Metzia 10a

Rabbi Hiyya bar Abba said in Rabbi Yohanan’s name: One who lifts a lost item for another acquires it for that person. If you object from our Mishnah, there he said, “Give it to me,” not “Acquire it for me.”

Rabbi Yohanan permits acquisition by lifting for another. Rav Nahman and Rav Hisda disagree using collection that disadvantages others. Rabbi Yohanan distinguishes requesting delivery from requesting acquisition. Preserve both positions.
