Yoreh De'ah Siman 62 is a source-text unit from the Shulchan Arukh with 4 seifim. Its reading map separates the practical rule, its conditions and the points that need comparison with the surrounding text.
What to track
Read each seif as a separate step. Identify the action, the condition that limits it and any distinction between cases before moving to the next seif.
Study lens
Look for rabbinic statements and attributed teachings. The source text remains the primary evidence; this note offers a structured way to enter it rather than replacing close reading.

Original text
A limb from a live animal is forbidden from a domesticated animal, a wild animal, or fowl.
A limb that separates from a live animal is forbidden. And flesh that separates from a live animal is forbidden because of "And the flesh in the field Treifah." And even what separates from the animal [but] is still inside it - such as [where it was] cut from the spleen or from the kidneys and the piece was left inside it - it is forbidden.
A limb or flesh that is minced (Injured) and can not be reattached back into the animal, even if it was separated after the shechita, It is forbidden (to eat it). Hagah: in Siman 55 states, the Yeteret (an extra piece of meat on the animal that does not cause the animal to no longer be considered kosher) is still on the animal. The animal is still kosher. Additionally, we do not say that a removed Yeter is considered like a minced limb (and forbidden). The Yeter can even be eaten. Nevertheless, the Rashba (שו"ת הרשב"א חלק א סימן פט) says that the minhag (tradition) is to be stringent (and not eat the Yeter meat).
An animal's male organ that has been detached but is still covered (the flesh and skin still covers the organ), is not forbidden by the Torah, because the organ is not considered without life (not considered dead tissue) and has not rotted. Even though this organ is not forbidden to eat, the minhag (tradition) of (Klal) Yisrael is not to eat it because it looks like a limb from a live animal.
