<b>שהבכורות מתענין בערב פסח. ובו ג סעיפים:</b><br>הבכורות מתענין בערב פסח בין בכור מאב בין בכור מאם ויש מי שאומר שאפילו נקבה בכורה מתענה: (ואין המנהג כן) (מהרי"ל):
The firstborns, either of the father or of the mother, must fast on the eve of Passover. According to one opinion, even a firstborn daughter must fast (it is not the practice) .
אם חל ערב פסח בשבת יש אומרי' שמתעני' הבכורו' ביום ה' ויש אומרים שאינם מתענים כלל: הגה אבל יש לנהוג כסברא הראשונה ונוהגין כשהאב בכור האם מתענה תחת בנה הבכור כשעדיין קטן ואם אין האב בכור הוא מתענה בעד בנו עד שיגדיל:
האיסטניס מתענה בערב פסח כדי שיאכל מצה לתיאבון:
