    Rava mi-Farzika

    Rava mi-Farzika, a sixth-generation Amora, was a prolific debater with Rav Ashi and significantly assisted him in the editing of the Babylonian Talmud. He is noted for his halakhic rulings concerning food mixtures.

    Sixth Generation of Amoraim. He frequently engaged in halakhic discussion with Rav Ashi in Torah study and greatly assisted Rav Ashi in the editing of the Babylonian Talmud.

    Rav Kahana, son of Rav Hinana Saba, taught: Bread baked with roasted meat in an oven is forbidden to be eaten with a dairy dish, because the bread absorbed the smell from the meat. That is to say: the cooking vapors of the meat were absorbed into the bread.

    A fish called a 'biniata' that was roasted with meat in an oven, Rava mi-Farzika forbade eating it together with a dairy dish, because the fish absorbed the cooking vapors of the meat.

    Mar bar Rav Ashi said: It is even forbidden to eat that same fish with meat, because there is danger in eating fish and meat together, meaning the danger of leprosy. פסחים עו:
